Acting Workshop for Young Performers

Pedro Garcia & Teatro Nuestra Cultura will be conducting 4 Acting Camp Workshops this summer. Each 5 day workshop will give students the opportunity to focus on audition skills, cold reading, improvisation, writing, breaking down scripts, building believable characters, acting and directing for stage and film. Students will also work with dialogues, monologues and exercises for voice and movement. Materials such as pencils, notebooks, dialogues and monologues will be provided.
Each session will culminate with the making of a short film starring all of the students. Students will need to bring a new DVD+R disc to receive a copy of their film. A daily snack, juice and water will be provided with KFC Chicken on Thursday and Little Caesars Pizza on Friday.
Professional Instructor, Pedro Garcia, is a member of the Screen Actors Guild of America since
1994 and the Artistic Director of Teatro Nuestra Cultura. He has worked
on nearly 100 theatre and film productions as actor, director, producer
and casting director combined.
Each session will culminate with the making of a short film starring
all of the students. Students will need to bring a new DVD+R disc to
receive a copy of their film. A daily snack, juice and water will be
provided with KFC Chicken on Thursday and Little Caesars Pizza on
Friday.
Dates and Times:
Session 1 - June 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13 (Monday thru Friday) for ages 8-13
Session 2 - June 23, 24, 25, 26 & 27 (Monday thru Friday) for ages 14-18
Session 3 - July 7, 8, 9, 10, & 11 (Monday thru Friday) for ages 8-13
Session 4 - July 21, 22, 23, 24 & 25 (Monday thru Friday) for ages 14-18
Monday thru Wednesday - 8:45am - 12:15pm / Thursday and Friday 8:45am - 1:30pm
Fee: $275.00 per session. Must be registered and paid at least 3 days prior to first class.
Location: Classes will be held at the McAllen Creative Incubator, 1001 S 16th St, in McAllen
