Feature Exhibit of the Month-Latin Essence by Fany Mares
Artist Fany Mares is having a solo exhibit named “Latin Essence” at the McAllen Creative Incubator for the month of June. The exhibit is formed by a series of paintings that reflect her Latin roots, portraying Latin culture, feelings & essence. The opening reception for Mares exhibit will be on Friday June 17th the general public is welcomed to attend. The exhibit will remain on display thru June 27th.
Fany Mares was born in Mexico City. She started to paint at an early age, and has a major in Design from Universidad Nuevo Mundo in Mexico City. Her work goes beyond realism as she searches for the essence within her subjects. She uses bright colors, expressive brushstrokes, and rich texture that gives volume to her paintings.
Mares is a professional painter, her work has been exhibited in Mexico, the United States and Europe; she has also earned awards from art contests in Italy, and took part in the Art Biennial of Palermo in 2015. Fany, works from her studio in south Texas, where she is constantly creating. Mares recently had a solo exhibit titled “The Colors of Mexico” at the Mexican Consulate in McAllen, Texas.
