Local Artists, Viviana Caballero to offer a
Community Classes at the McAllen Creative Incubator
The McAllen Chamber of Commerce continues to offer a series of Community Classes presented by the McAllen Creative Incubator, the cultural arm of the Chamber. RGV Artists like Viviana Caballero teach the classes to share their knowledge of various disciplines of the arts.
“We are proud to collaborate with local businesses and artists to engage residents in creative processes,” said Laura Robles, Cultural Arts & Incubator Coordinator. “The continued exposure to the arts enhances our community and helps expose the variety of cultural talent in the Rio Grande Valley.”
Viviana was taught to embroider and hand sew by her mother since the age of 10. Ms. Caballero has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and recently graduated from the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon. She has participated in a local exhibit curated by The South Texas College Art Department and Library Art Gallery, “100 Women, 100 Words”.
Ms. Caballero will be offering a Sewing & Embroidery Workshop at the McAllen Creative Incubator as a part of the series of classes. For your convenience, students can enroll in the Friday or Saturday class.
Ms. Caballero has prepared a program for students to create something different in each class: a tote bag, an original phone case, a personalized pillow, a decorative cactus and more. Whether you are an expert or just getting started, Ms. Caballero will guide you through the process until your masterpiece is complete. For materials required visit www.mcallenlearning.com.
Cost is $70 for 12 hours of instruction. All classes begins in June at the McAllen Creative Incubator, located at 601 N. Main Street, McAllen. Register today at www.mcallenlearning.com or by calling Laura Robles at 956-687-2787.
