McA2 welcomes Reynaldoism, by Rey Santiago

As Master of Fine Arts Program Director and professor at UTRGV, Reynaldo Santiago brings his extensive artistic experience and love of teaching to the Incubator.

With his background teaching a variety of art courses in the School of Art at UTRGV, co-founder of the McAllen Art Walk, and founder/manager of the Facebook group, Printmakers International, Santiago teaches classes in various art forms.

Learn vanishing classical traditions in the areas of original hand pulled prints and ceramic sculpture. Printmaking techniques such as woodcut, linoleum, screen print, lithography, intaglio and monoprints are taught. Wheel throwing, glazing and hand building are in the ceramics curriculum.  Classes are for students 13 years up.

If a student wants to learn, I will teach them,” he states with conviction “I believe there are no rules in the process of creativity. I enjoy when my students create art that, at times, defies tradition and the art society as a whole.”
