Tomorrow, May 29th, the McAllen Arts Council and the McAllen Chamber of Commerce will hold the 5th Annual Fine Art Exhibition reception and Business After Hours Mixer. The exhibit features the work of McAllen artists and is currently on display in the Art Gallery located within the McAllen Creative Incubator. The reception will be sponsored by the Mcallen Chamber of Commerce and the McAllen Arts Council.The mixer is designed to provide networking opportunities with local business people, associates, and the local and out of the area talent. The public is invited to attend.

“The McAllen Creative Incubator (McA2) is a venue for artists and art organizations of different art disciplines,” said Ivan Gonzalez. Gonzalez runs the Creative Incubator and is the McAllen Chamber of Commerce’s Cultural Arts Director. “The goal of McA2 is to support the continued professional growth of artists and enhance the cultural and economic vitality of our local community. We believe that strong communities deserve a strong arts program, and with all the talent we have here in McAllen, the Chamber sees it as our duty to support local artists as much as possible.

“What better way to promote your business than networking on a one to one basis, and at the same time enjoying an evening of hors d’oeuvres and wine?’ There is no cost to attend the event. The McA2 Creative Incubator is located at 601 N. Main St. (corner of Fir Ave. & Main St.) and the event will be held on Thursday evening, May 29th, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

“Mother’s Day Art Bazaar” Art Exhibition

McAllen. Hinovations Art Gallery in partnership with Monarch International Design, Inc., a silver jewelry company, is proud to host a fundraiser event in benefit of the McAllen Pregnancy Center (MPC), a nonprofit organization that helps low income women who are expecting a baby. The fundraiser named “Mother’s Day Art Bazar” is a celebration of motherhood and the gift of life and it will take place on Thursday, May 8th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Local artists exhibiting at the event and supporting our efforts are Dania Olivares Aparicio with her Doko Casual Art, Paola Bermeo with her jewelry Amore Brand, Martha Sanchez with Rostros Latinos magazine, Elisa Cedeño with Arrow Events, and painter Dalice (Blanca Ceballos).  The general public is invited to attend the event and there will be a $10 donation/entrance fee or bring a donation of a new baby item for MPC’s Baby Boutique. Also, all vendors have agreed to donate to this noble cause 10% of the sales during the event.

The McAllen Arts Council invites you to participate in the 5th Annual McAllen Arts Council Fine Art Exhibition May 1st through May 31st, 2014. This exhibition will be juried by representatives of the McAllen Arts Council and the McAllen Chamber of Commerce and will be juried from the originals. This means that the artists will deliver their original artwork to the site, after which it will be juried. After jury selection artwork that has not been selected must be retrieved at the time specified.

The McAllen Arts Council is dedicated to supporting and encouraging the development of a citywide arts culture and infrastructure that includes all disciplines of the arts. This support and encouragement will improve the city’s quality of life through promoting and enhancing creativity, education, and the appreciation of the arts.

ELIGIBILITY
Artists over the age of 18 may submit two to four (2 – 4) artworks (2-D and/or 3-D). All artwork must be original and non-collaborative work (one artist).

INSURANCE:
All work is insured by the McAllen Chamber of Commerce after arrival. Both the sale price and the insurance value must be listed on the entry form. All insurance values may not exceed 50% of the retail price. The Gallery cannot insure work for an amount in excess of its fair market value and reserves the right to limit the amount of insurance coverage on any work. In event of loss or damage, it will be the artist’s responsibility to document the value of the work.
